Where
is Duće located?
This calm little village directly on
the shore is the last village before
you reach the old little pirate city
of Omiš at the mouth of the river Cetina
into the Adria. Duće is located about
20 km south of Split and about 30 km
from Makarska, completely aside of mass
tourism. |

| At
Pansion Anastazija, apartments with
two or more beds are available (in one
or two room). Studio-apartments for
two or three persons as well as two-bed-
or three-bed-rooms with shower and WC,
refrigerator, and satellite-TV are offered
too, of course. Last but not least,
all rooms have a balcony with a wonderful
view over the sea.
You can park your car on the sheltered
parking just beside the house. And only
ten stairs lead directly to the sand
beach. On the way to the beach you will
pass immediately the comfortable coffee
bar «Tamarin», which is located directly
beneath the large terrace. Here you
can enjoy a wonderfull cold draught
beer, refreshing drinks, cocktails,and
ice cups. |

Duce
and the surroundings of the Pension
Anastazija have one of the very few
sand strands of the croatic Adria coast,
due to the nearby river Cetina. The
beach itself is partly covered by a
15 metres-wide belt of tamarin trees
which provide comfortable shadow which
eases accommodation to the intense sun
in your first vacation days. Another
belt of fine sand leads to the crystal
clear water of the sea. The water temperature
is between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius,
which is just right for swimming.
The water is very smooth and the first
200 metres are so shallow that adults
can walk. This makes the water to an
ideal place for children to play without
any risk or threat by waves or currents
nearby the strand.

If you book your
holidays in our house inclusive breakfast,
we will serve it on our terrace directly besides
the beach.
Within one mile in both directions of the
Magistrale you will find a lot of small privately
owned restaurants which offer to you the big
palette of the Dalmatian food. Omiš, too,
offers a lot of restaurants with Dalmatian
and international kuisine.

| Though Duce is
a very calm place, you will not meet boredom
at any time. The islands of Brac and Hvar
on the other side of Duce invite you for sightseeing
tours by boat with fish dinner and red wine,
of course. Alternatively you can take a small
boat upwards the river Cetina to the old water
mill and enjoy fresh trouts while dreaming
of old Karl-May-movies: A lot of takes have
been shot just here. Uschi Glas did her first
steps into the worid of movie at Radmanove
Mlinice, and Pierre Brice became famous here
as well. Split (about 20 km away) invites
you for a visit (extraordinary well preserved
palace of the Roman emperor Diokletian, as
an important witness of Roman culture in Croatia).
Makarska and the Makarska Riviera are worth
seeing, too. For those who like adventures,
we recommend to do rafting on the Cetina river
over a distance of 8 km. |
There
are three altemative ways to Omiš:
• By car on the Magistrale along the coast;
• By plane to Split Airport. We can pick you
up and take you back there, if desired.
• By ferry boat from Rijeka to Split (which
is a good choice anyway, because it cuts the
total driving time in your car by 7 or 8 hours)
When you will have reached Split, go ahead
in direction of Dubrownik, and after a distance
of about 20 km you will find the sign «Duce»
on the right-hand side. Then you are very
close to your destination. Please concentrate
on the right side of the street and go ahead
exactly 2,5 km: immediately at the bus stop
of Duce-Glavica, a private way leads about
30 m right to the sea. Here you are - and
unforgettable holidays can begin.
