The Mediterranean Monk Seal (Monachus monachus hermann) is one of the most endangered sea mammal species on earth.
Today, we can not talk about its population in the Adriatic, but only periodical visits of isloated specimens. The Adriatic sea still offers acceptable conditions for the existence of Mediterranean Monk Seal. Its return on the habitats would be possible through the foundation of specially protected areas - marine parks.
